The event in a nutshell

Leeds Beckett University played host to a TEDx-style event live from The Leeds School of Arts – a night where bold ideas and brilliant minds took centre stage. Four speakers from across the university delivered talks sharing their perspectives on today’s biggest challenges, against a backdrop reflecting the creativity and ambition of the institution.

Bringing the TEDx vision to life

Working closely with the LBU team, we adhered to official TEDx brand guidelines while adding a visual twist of our own. Our in-house creative team developed a series of concepts before landing on a look built around two large suspended earth-and-dot graphics and a striking 3D TEDx Leeds Beckett logo board beneath the screen. These bespoke elements defined the space on the day and were designed to live on at future events.

Full technical production

We delivered a raised rear-projection screen for optimal sightlines and clean camera shots. The space was carefully lit for broadcast, with soft and directional lighting bringing the stage to life while keeping the visual tone consistent across camera angles. We ran rehearsals and provided comfort monitors, clickers and a discreet tech setup to support each presenter, with headset and lapel mics feeding a live mix for the stream and on-demand content.

A seamless hybrid experience

Three cameras and our production kit captured the event from multiple angles, giving remote viewers a fully polished experience – overseen by a specialist crew including a Project Manager, Camera Director, and Audio and Video Technicians working alongside the in-house AV team.

The result was a seamless hybrid event, with over 120 guests in the room and many more joining online – a celebration of culture, community and the power of shared ideas.
