At Sparq, community means more than the events we deliver. We’re proud to use our experience and equipment to support local charities, organisations, and schools, making a real difference across Yorkshire and beyond.
We believe in bringing people together and creating a positive impact… after all, that’s what events should do.
Here are some of the projects and partnerships we’re proud to be a part of.
Bee Lady Ball 2026 Hull
In 2026, we were proud to be headline sponsor of the very first Bee Lady Ball at the Mercure Grange Park Hotel in Hull.
The evening is dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of the late Jean Bishop, lovingly remembered across Hull and East Yorkshire as the ‘Bee Lady’.
The event supports Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire and brings together guests for a memorable evening of fundraising and celebration!
As headline sponsor, Sparq are also providing AV production for the event, including staging, lighting, screens, microphones and event presentation support.
We are incredibly proud to support an event that honours such an important local figure while raising money for a fantastic cause.
Supporting Leeds Beckett University
We are proud to have supported Leeds Beckett University by working alongside students studying their Event Management degree!
Over the past few years, Sparq has delivered sessions as part of the university’s Event Production module, working with students from January through to April. During this time, our team has given students insight into what Sparq does and event production within the industry.
We have delivered lectures, hosted kit demo days, and introduced students to our technicians, sharing the technology and skills involved behind the scenes.
Students were then tasked with creating and delivering a full event, with Sparq presenting the live brief and students pitching their concepts to us as the client, giving them real-world experience.
We also supported students through online consultations as they developed their events, which were ultimately delivered at the Leeds Beckett Students’ Union, transforming the spaces with staging, décor, entertainment and full production support.
Our technicians acted as the AV supplier, working closely with students to bring their ideas to life. Seeing their creativity and hard work has been incredibly rewarding, and we are proud to help support the future of the events industry.
Hidden Disability Charity UK Hull
We work closely with the Hidden Disability Charity UK, a Hull-based charity dedicated to raising awareness and building a supportive community for people living with invisible conditions such as POTS, ME/CFS, and cystic fibrosis.
The charity provides support and fun opportunities for people who often face challenges that are not immediately visible to others.
We are proud to support events including the Hidden Disability Ball, as well as community activities such as Halloween movie nights, where we provide and set up AV equipment, alongside creating an unforgettable experience.
Supporting charities like Hidden Disability Charity UK is an important part of our commitment to creating inclusive and welcoming experiences for everyone.
Heart Hero Awards Leeds
We were proud to sponsor the Heart Hero Awards 2026 at Headingley Stadium, Leeds.
The awards celebrate everyday heroes across Yorkshire, recognising people who go above and beyond to support others and make a difference in their communities.
Sparq sponsored the ‘Bright Sparq of the Year’ award, celebrating someone who showed incredible initiative and kindness.
Helen Elam presented the award to the winner, while our team enjoyed an inspiring evening hearing the amazing stories shared throughout the night.
It was also fantastic to work alongside Liz Paver from Communicorp UK on such a special event.
