Case Study: Watch Party
We were brought in by YouTube to deliver a premium watch party experience for The Game Awards – an all-night celebration of the best in gaming, streamed live from LA. Our brief? Craft an unforgettable night for creators, industry insiders and VIPs here in London, designed to connect seamlessly with the global broadcast.
From the outset, every detail of the guest journey was considered. We sourced and secured the perfect venue, transforming it into a fully themed space that celebrated gaming culture while still feeling high-end and exclusive. Working closely with Google’s security team, we managed all access control, ensuring a smooth and secure experience for guests from arrival to departure.
With the time difference in play, we were effectively running a midnight-to-morning event – but that didn’t stop us pulling out all the stops. We created a late-night menu that felt celebratory and indulgent, with themed food and drinks inspired by iconic moments from gaming. There were interactive elements throughout the night too – including a Game Awards bingo game that kept guests engaged and added a bit of friendly competition.
Visually, the space was designed to wow. A step-and-repeat photo moment and a 360° glam cam gave guests a red carpet-style welcome, while multiple LED screens – including a bespoke ceiling ribbon – brought the live show to life in every corner of the venue. We designed custom graphics for the screens, giving the space its own visual identity while still feeling connected to the global stream.
One of the key moments of the night was a live ‘shout out’ from London into the LA broadcast – a two-way connection that made the event feel part of something much bigger. Our digital team managed the stream across time zones, ensuring the London energy came through loud and clear to viewers around the world.
We also built out bespoke streaming booths and customised creator setups, allowing talent to react, comment and connect live with their own audiences during the show. Ticketing, accreditation and VIP travel were all handled by our team, and we offered a full concierge service at the guest hotel to make sure every touchpoint felt seamless.
No detail was too small – even the merch was custom designed to match the theme of the night. And while most of London was asleep, our team was on-site, fully switched on.
