The WHY
In the world of events, some projects stand out as exceptional, both in terms of their significance and the impact they have on the community they serve.
When we were presented with the opportunity to sponsor the Heart Yorkshire FM Hero Awards 2023, it was clear that this event held a special place in our calendar for a reason.
The event's significance lies in its mission to shine a spotlight on the remarkable individuals and groups throughout Yorkshire; individuals who have performed extraordinary acts of kindness, bravery, and selflessness. The awards encompass a wide range of categories, from the NHS Hero Award to the Parent Award, each recognising the diverse ways in which Yorkshire people make a positive impact on their communities.
For such a meaningful event - we had to make sure it was celebrated in the best way possible.
The HOW
To achieve this, we knew we had to not only understand the essence of the event but also exceed expectations in delivering a memorable experience. Here's how we accomplished it:
An Immersive Technological Experience:
With our vast inventory of the latest AV technology and our skilled in-house technicians, we provided full technical production for the awards. Utilising broadcast-quality equipment to ensure an unforgettable experience for all attendees. We designed and built a stage that served as the focal point for speakers and award recipients, ensuring that every winner had their moment in the spotlight.
Story Telling:
The installation of three LED walls as a backdrop captured the essence of the event, as it enabled us to highlight each hero as they stepped forward to collect their well-deserved awards. Short clips were played to introduce the winners and tell their stories. This was a crucial addition for us to contribute to the overall ambiance of celebration and recognition that the event aimed to achieve.
The WHAT
Taking place in the iconic Headingley Stadium, attendees gathered together to celebrate this momentous occasion in style.
Guests were treated to a delicious three-course meal and a selection of drinks, setting the stage for an evening of extravagance and celebration. The atmosphere was electric, with attendees dressed in their finest attire, adding a touch of glamour to the event as we welcomed Yorkshire's heroes including ‘Yorkshire Legends’ winners, the Burrow family.
The main event commenced, and the room fell into hushed reverence as the heroes of Yorkshire took center stage. Each award recipient's story evoked tears, smiles, and a profound sense of pride in being part of a community that produced such remarkable individuals. It was an emotional rollercoaster, punctuated by thunderous applause and heartfelt gratitude.
As a special touch, we sponsored our very own Bright Sparq Award – an accolade for individuals who shone brilliantly in critical moments, demonstrating quick thinking and remarkable initiative.
Two of our Directors, Helen Wheatley and Helen Elam, had the privilege of presenting this prestigious award - a testament to our commitment to celebrating those who make a difference in our community.
In conclusion, the Heart Yorkshire FM Hero Awards 2023 was a night that showcased the very best of Yorkshire's spirit and determination. All of us at Sparq were thrilled to play a role in making this event a success, and we left with hearts full of pride and admiration for the heroes we celebrated that evening.
